ok, on part a you got the first part right.  (1/2)bh for the area of the triangle that is above the x-axis.  Now you have to subtract the triangle on the far right since it's below the x-axis.  From what I can tell in the picture, it has a height of -2 and a width of 1 so its area is -1.  Adding these two parts gives 9.
For B I'd say from [-5,-3] the graph of g(x) is increasing (you're still adding area as you go from -5 to -3 and since g(x) is concerned with the integral of f(x) it's getting bigger there) and the concavity is down.  The other interval is then [-3,2], for the same reasons
