My friend's strategy will not be effective because he only plans to do crunches. In order to get optimal results, one must work out their entire core to lose weight in the belly area. One cannot simply workout their stomach but their obliques, back, chest, and more. This is a better strategy because this will lose weight in all parts of the belly area and will tire someone out less quickly. This person will have more endurance to workout longer if they are not working out the same muscle over and over again.
