According to the myths, the two Titan Gods were given the task of populating the earth with animals and men. Epimetheus used up all his supply of gifts which led to his brother Prometheus' gifts as useless for the animals and men. He then tried to steal fire from heaven to arm them, angering Zeus. So, Zeus created Pandora as a means to deliver evil to mankind. Epimetheus happily accepted her as his wife but had to suffer when she opened the jar entrusted her by the gods, bringing havoc and disaster.
