2^2 - 5t + 12 = 0

4 - 5t + 12 = 0

-5t + 16 = 0

-5t = -16

t = 16/5

Answer: 16/5 in fraction form or 3.2 in decimal form

4 - 5t + 12 = 0

Add like terms.

16 - 5t = 0

Subtract 16 from both sides.
