Newton's famous law of gravitation states that the mutual attractive force between two bodies is inversely proportional to the distance between them. Gravity within out solar system depends upon the distance to the Sun. Venus is the second closest planet to the Sun so the gravity is much stronger there than it is on Mars which is the fourth closest planet to the Sun.
