Mrs Gopal bought 4 similar watches and 5 similar braclets and had $201 left.Of she had bought 8 such watches and 4 such braclets,she would have spent all the money she had.Each braclet costs $117 more than each watch.How much money did Mrs Gopal have at first?

w=cost of a watch
b=cost of a bracelet

m=4w+5b+201.........(1)
m=8w+4b.................(2)
b=w+117..................(3)

(1)-(2)⇒ 0= -4w+b+201=-4w+(w+117)+201[using (3)]
                =-3w+117+201=-3w+318
so, w=318/3=106
       b=w+117=106+117=223[using(3)]
from (2),
          m=8(106)+4(223)=1740 thats the answer
