A Palaeoethnobotanist or Archaeobotanist, is a scientist who studies plant remains in the archaeological record.

The study is known as Palaeoethnobotany or Archaeobotany where remains of plants that are cultivated by man in ancient times are carefully observed. The study provides information for the origins of agriculture, domestication, the relationship of humans and plants during the pre-historic times, among others.
