Respuesta :

The clothes worn by Mohandas Gandhi of India and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk of Turkey indicate their desire to make a political statement to their respective nations, India and Turkey.  Gandhi believed that wearing a Khadi is a way of rejecting the western clothes, and symbolizes self-reliance and nationalism. While Ataturk, he reform the clothing of his people in Turkey because he believed that if they continue their traditions, they would again be attacked by western power. Thus, wearing their traditional clothes was forbidden, instead, they were asked to wear more modern clothing.
Both leaders were known for their commitment to nationalist movements.  Gandhi and Ataturk both fought for the independence of their nations.  Gandhi, as man of peace. Ataturk, as man of war who turned peace.
