Michelangelo's feelings about the painting in the Sistine Chapel were less than happy. That means that he was unhappy.

The right answer is the D: He was less than happy. Although one of Michelangelo's masterpieces, which he completed in 1512 at the petition of Pope Julius II, it was far from being an easy and desired commission. Due to the nature of the work (800 sq meters of fresco painting just in the ceiling; years later he would also paint the far wall with a stunning fresco of The Last Judgment) he had to spend several years standing up and with his neck stretched in a very awkward position that caused him a great deal of pain and discomfort. In addition, Michelangelo did not consider himself a painter, but a sculptor, and he believed that his enemies had conspired against him, with the goal of discrediting him once he would have finished the commission.
