So, the perimeter total is 40
to find the perimeter we add all of the sides together
We know all of the sides, these sides should add up to 40

So the equation that we have should look somewhat like this.

5+5+x+x=40

We want to isolate x, to do this we should first combine like terms, the equation is now

10+2x=40
We'll then subtract 10 from both sides, the equation is now.

2x=30

We will then divide both sides by 2
2x/2= x
30/2= 15

x=15 is the final equation

So at most she can use 15yds of fencing for the length.
