This is clearly false. Those workers were working where there was a high risk of danger. In the mines, it would get so heavy and dense that it actually made it kind of hard to breathe. Many workers got sick, and I can see why. After so long of working in these very harsh conditions, and after breathing all of the dirty air, it can take a toll on your lungs and such. These workers were at high risk of endangerment, and sometimes it was even fatal.
