If you looks at the well drawn picture that I drew, you'll notice that we notice that we can use the trigonometric ratio tan; in this case:
tan58=[tex] \frac{10}{x}[/tex]
Solving this, we get:
x=[tex] \frac{10}{tan58}[/tex]
Which gets us that x=6.25 (approximately)
(It really wasn't that great of a picture but still :D)

The value of tan of an angle is the ratio of the perpendicular and the adjacent side that is base of the triangle. Hence, using this the height of shadow cast can be calculated.
Hence, the shadow cast is of 6.25 foot.
Given information:
The height of the lamp is 10 foot
The angle of elevation of the sun is [tex]58^o[/tex]
Now, using the trigonometry:
[tex]\text{tan}\;58^o=\frac{10}{x}[/tex]
Where, [tex]x[/tex] will be the length of the shadow cast.
[tex]x=10/\text{tan}\;58^o\\\\x=10/1.60\\\\x=6.25[/tex]
Hence, the shadow cast is of 6.25 foot.
