Carbon dioxide and water are converted into glucose and oxygen. This produces light energy. Photosynthesis takes place in leaf cells.
The process that takes place in the leaf to produce oxygen is photosynthesis. Water is first absorbed through the roots of the plant. CO2 enters the plant through the stomata. Chlorophyll in the leaf traps light from the sun to create sugars and oxygen from water, CO2, & light. Oxygen leaves the leaf going into the air and sugar is stored as starch in the plant for use.
