John Wycliffe was a critic of the Catholic Church. He was an English priest, theologian and Biblical translator. He also taught at the University of Oxford. Wycliffe is considered one of the predecessors of the Protestant Revolution. He criticized the expensive and exuberant lifestyle of the clergy. He also thought the Bible should be translated to common, everyday language that everyone could understand. The Wycliffe's Bible is a translation of the Bible to vernacular language. Finally, Wycliffe strongly believed in predestination but disagreed with: the veneration of saints, the sacraments that were performed and transubstantiation.
