The volume of tourists visiting Africa has a huge impact to its economy. If these volume gets high, in effect, an establishment would need more staff. Then, these staffs employed with their wages contribute greatly to their economy in a variety of ways, direct or indirect. We call this as a multiplier effect, consider below as examples.

1. For every night that a tourist stays over at a high-end game lodge in a remote part of southern Africa, 14 people in the surrounding community benefit indirectly from the income generated by the services offered by the industry.
2. For every one person employed by certain high-end tourism lodges in southern Africa, seven people benefit from the downstream flow of that income.
3. As lodge staff send their remittances back home, the money circulates within these rural communities, helping to grow the local economy.
4. Meanwhile, staff employed in these sorts of ventures help grow the local economy by spending their wages at community stores where they do their grocery shopping.
5. The staff employed might drive secondary employment through hiring people for child care or to tend their livestock while they work. Or they’re sending their children to school.
