We will work on the value of x.

(x +8) (x + 1) = x ( x+3)

X² + 9x +8 = x² + 13x

13x - 9x = 8

4x = 8

X= 8/4

X=2

 

Solve for the length of AC by substituting the

Value of x.

Then: x +13 and x+1

     X+X+ 13+1

     2 +2 +13 + 1

=  18

Line segment AC then is 18.
