q + d = 15
.25q + .1d = 2.85

q = 15 - d

.25(15-d) + .1d = 2.85
3.75 - .25d + .1d = 2.85
3.75 - .15d = 2.85
-.15d = -.9
d = 6

q = 15 - d
q = 15 - 6
q = 9

9 quarters, 6 dimes.
