From Sparta, Telemachus travelled by the sea to Ithaca after Athena conveyed the message that his homeland is in danger and before his mother Penelope is wed. He headed and resided at a swineheard Eumaeu's hut in the city of Ithaca where he met his father Odysseus disguised as an old man.
