There are a multitude of reasons why cultures change. Some examples include innovation, diffusion and revolution. Although this is not a complete list, history shows that these factors have important implications on culture.
That's a very open ended question.
1. In the time when Imperialism was very prevalent, cultures of colonized areas were displaced by European powers. This is because these European nations had such an influence on colonized nations that their culture began to adopt that of the European nation, or was largely influenced by the effects of colonization.
2. New technological innovations or any innovations that drastically change our way of life.
3. Times of panic or crisis change cultural mindsets, focuses, and viewpoints.
4. The process of one nation receiving information or help from another nation can have the effect of the first nation adopting the customs and ways of the helping nation.
5. Often an influx of people from other cultures, such as imigrants can have a similar effect, in that their culture tends to rub off on others.
