Distribute both numbers from the outside of the parenthesis and multiply that by the the number inside the parenthesis. So 1/2(4x+13) means that you have to multiply 1/2 by 4 and 1/2 by 13. 2x+6.5=6(x+7). On the other side, 6(x+7) do the same thing multiply 6 by x and 6 by 7. 2x+6.5=6x+42 Now thats done, move the "like terms" on the same side.
