OA with an arrow over it and (1,4) with the one over the four(like a fraction without the line)

OA is the Vector in a given figure. It is a position vector.

What is a vector?

A vector is an object that has both a magnitude as well as direction. Geometrically, the vector is a directed line segment, whose length is the magnitude of an arrow(head) indicating the direction. The direction of the vector is from its tail O to its head A (OA)

example:- Velocity, Displacement, torque, force etc.

Types of Vector

  • Zero Vector= It is only a point without a head or tail.
  • Unit Vector=It always have a magnitude of 1 with direction

  • Position Vector r=A vector indicating position ad an object in space or plane.

(In this question it is a position vector)

  • Co-initial Vector=Two vectors having sthe ame initial points.

  • Co-planar Vector=Two vectors lie on the same plane.

  • Collinear Vector=The angle between two vectors is either 0 or 180 degrees.

  • Equal Vector= Two vectors are equal if their magnitude, as well as direction, are equal
