The Westward Expansion generally had a negative effect on the Native Americans. They were forced to live on reservations, and they were forcefully from their native lands. As well as the natives being forced out of their land, the buffalo had a large decrease in population. There was also growing tensions, and there were cases of Natives and Americans fighting, and causing deaths on both sides.
