The GI Bill was a law passed after World War II. The goal of this bill was to help the millions of American veterans returning to the US after the war. The GI Bill included government help in paying for a college education, low interest home loans, and other benefits. This essentially allowed veterans to obtain a free college degree, resulting in a huge growth in the number of college graduates within the United States.
