2. The correct answer is: Blitzkrieg.

Blitzkrieg is the german name for "lightning war". It is the popular name for a war strategy implicating an inicial bombing followed by the fast movement and introduction of mobile forces by surprise, not allowing the enemy to respond in the best way possible. In the beginning of WWII, this was a brand new strategy and caught countries by surprise, therefore resulting in success.

3. The correct answer is: Churchill and Stalin became allies.

"The enemy of the enemy, is my friend" would be the best phrase to describe this alliance. When Hitler invaded the Soviet Union (breaking the pact he had done with Stalin where he promised he wouldn't), Stalin knew he had to take down the traitor and growing menace. This would be only achieved if Hitler was attacked from both fronts. Though Stalin was sure he had the army to take him down by himself, this was a strategic move. It was the perfect moment to establish relations with the Allies, who were utterly against him. After this alliance, the Allies would be in debt to him. He saw the invasion of the Soviet Union as an opportunity as most of the troops were in Russia and unprotecting Berlin. The new alliance with the Allies enraged Hitler as it was very unexpected, this is why he was so stubborn in sending more and more troops to the Soviet Union even though he was clearly losing the battle.

4. The correct answer is: The German army couldn’t sustain a two-front war, and this contributed to their downfall.

This answer was explained in answer number 3.

5. The correct answer is: The U.S. declared war on Japan after it attacked Pearl Harbor.

Italy and Germany declared war on the United States in response to the United States declaring war on their ally, Japan. Japan attacked the US (Pearl Harbor) on December 7th 1941. Italy and Germany declared war on the US 4 days later, on December 11th 1941.

6. The correct answer is: Poor weather conditions.

Hitler planned to take little supplies from Germany (as regards clothing and food) as he thought this surplus of clothing would be uncomfortable for soldiers and would delay the rapid advance he was thinking of. The need of more clothing and food would be satisfied by raiding the remaining resources of the cities and towns they invaded in the way to Moscow. This was a huge mistake. As they advanced, Russians were unmercifully burning their own crops and factories so that there would be nothing left for the Germans to use. A vast amount of soldiers ended up freezing to death or starving. When Hitler was attacked from the other front too, there was no other option but to retreat.
