3/4 of an hour equals 45 minutes because 4/4 (one), is equal to 60 minutes or an hour.  2/4 of an hour is 30 minutes.  1/4 of an hour is 15 minutes.  1/4 multiplied by 3 is 45 minutes and that equals 3/4.  I hope this helps!
