Question

I have a question about a rock my friend found yesterday outside. We noticed that when we would shake the rock you could hear and feel something moving inside. My sister threw the rock and it broke and it looks really weird on the inside and theres a little oval shaped ball in it but the ball isnt hard, it kind of has the texture of mud and clay put together and on the inside of the rock there are rings all around it in an oval shape. Just wondering if anyone can help , thanks (:

weird . when i was younger  I find what  i thought was a rock but it wasn't it was a snail . maybe you find a snail and it just looks weirder because it find it way in it. or maybe it was a slug that find it's way into the rock. but i'm not certain
