A.) 2a + 11 = 33
Subtract 11 from both sides.

2a+11−11=33−11

2a=22

Divide both sides by 2.

2a/2=22/2

a=11 <-- Answer

B.) 3h + 7 = 23 - h

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

3h+7=23−h

Simplify

3h+7=−h+23

Add h to both sides.

3h+7+h=−h+23+h

4h+7=23

Subtract 7 from both sides.

4h+7−7=23−7

4h=16

Divide both sides by 4.

4h4=164

h=4
