-because you need to let the x be alone by crossing each other out, see how 2.9 times a? you have to do the opposite now so 2.9a divde by 2.9 gives you a and now it must also be done to the other side too (11.6/2.9) giving an answer of 4.
2. -3.1u=7.75
-you do the same thing as above ↑ but you need to remember your negative signs! so -3.1 divided by -3.1 gives you u alone leaving 7.75 divided by -3.1 with an answer of -2.5.
3. -3.7x=29.6
-again it's the same thing being done here, -3.7 divided by itself giving x, and 29.7 divided by -3.7 with a final answer of -8.
