If you have a negative exponent, then you have to put it in the denominator. For 3^(-2), you have to put it as [tex] \frac{1}{3^2} [/tex] , then you square it, so it will be [tex] \frac{1}{9} [/tex] .

Anything to the power of 0 is 1.

[tex]-5^{-3}[/tex] is basically [tex] \frac{1}{5^3} [/tex], then you cube and then it is [tex] \frac{1}{125} [/tex]
3 to the power of -2 is equal to  0.11 repeated
(-4.25) to the power of 0 is equal to 1
(-5) to the power of -3 is equal to -0.008
