Best Answer: I'd say the most important thing he should do differently is make his family a lot less dependent on him for financial support. [ Maybe he should have moved far away from them when he finished school, instead of living with them. I'm sure there's a lot more... I'd have to think on it. ]
Edit: Also, Become more in touch with his reality and not be so preoccupied with work. His obsession with working was his downfall, and in turn he became a bug. This is my best guess...
