"Dictatorship- Dictatorship can mean rule by one person or by one political body such as a military junta with absolute or near absolute power. They may have come into power legally or illegally. Tyranny and autocracy are forms of dictatorship" OR "Autocracy means the concentration of power and authority in the hands of a SINGLE PERSON. Usually, autocracy refers to a situation where state power is controlled by a monarch, religious leader or political dictator. The term can also be applied to particular social institutions where one individual has dominant power and authority. 

An oligarchy, on the other hand, refers to a society or social system ruled by a FEW PEOPLE."

Autocracy is actually about a single person having all the power to control whatever that is that is to be controlled. In an autocracy, all the shots are called by the autocrat. This person will have absolute power to rule. In an oligarchy, though, a group rules together. That's the main difference. The oligarchy, as a group, takes the decisions.
