The Marshall Plan was a US plan designed to help the economies of Europe so they could have a strong and stable economy so their democratic institutions could survive.
With the Plan, European countries were able to have a better agricultural and industrial production developing a balance of trade which eventually helped with trade liberalization and economic integration between those countries and the world.
The US started to buy goods from Europe as an aid which eventually helped their economy to recover. Also, many European communist parties were diminished.
