45 - 40 = 5

$\frac{5}{40} (100)$

$.125 (100)$ = 12.5 
   =  $0.125(100)$ = 12.50

$12.5%$ is the changing process and the increasing process as well! 

Oh and by the way 12.5 can also be equivalent to $12.50$but your actual answer would have to be just $12.5$
