Two students are doing an experiment. They mix 40 grams of baking soda with 23 grams of vinegar inside a closed container and watch it react. How many grams of product should they expect to have when the reaction stops? PLZZ ANswer

Respuesta :

vinegar is acetic acid, baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. the reaction of the components is CH3COOH + NaHCO3 = CH3COONa + CO2 + H2O.we find first the limiting reagant by converting to moles and dividing by their stoich coefficient. in this case, the limiting is baking soda. 23 grams of vinegar is needs 32.2 grams. hence the expected product should contain 55.2 grams in all including the gases.
