Hitler was very charismatic. He could get a crowd engaged and enthralled in anything he said. He instilled loyalty in his inner circle as well through his force of will. Sure, some of it became fear later on but in the beginning, Hitler simply made people believe he could save them from the despair they all felt after WWI. He had one of the strongest personalities of charisma and confidence the world has ever know.
