Objective. It wouldn't be casual if it was formal. It wouldn't be clichéd because it is formal and there is definitely no opinions in formal writing.

Therefore, an author needs to provide evidence for all sides of the argument, and only use logical reasoning. He should also try to avoid relying on his personal biases. Other written projects, such as poems and opinion pieces, do not require such objectivity, as their purpose is to convey opinions or feelings, as opposed to information.
