When President Franklin Roosevelt took office in 1933, he acted fast to make the economy more stable. The New Deal was a group of U.S. government programs that helped people during the Great Depression. 

Here are some things the New Deal did:

-It helped restore American's faith in the government.
-Gave out millions of jobs.
