After Nixon resigned, making him the only President who was pretty much was never part of a winning Presidential ticket.
Answer:
Gerald Ford was the 38th President of the United States from 1974 to 1977. He was also the 40th Vice President of the nation between 1973 and 1974, when Richard Nixon was President. He was the first person to access the vice presidency under the terms of the Twenty-Fifth Amendment, and when Nixon resigned the presidency, he was the first (and to date, the only) President of the United States that reached this position without being elected President or Vice President by the Electoral College. He was also the first US president to lose a war (the Vietnam War was lost under his mandate).
