what is it called when water drops form on objects? Why does this happen?

This is called dew. It happens, because water has came on that object in the form of droplets on a thin exposed surface. As the exposed surface cools it condenses.

it's called dew! it's the drops on the grass that you can sometimes see in the morning. aka morning dew
