EDIT: The answer I posted for the question is wrong, and I will fix it because i got confused this is all my fault xD Here is the correct way to solve it. Ok, so first we have to find 1/8, 3/10, and 2/5 of 200. I will just fastfoward that, and we get 1/8=25, 3/10=60, and 2/5=80. (To find these, you multiply 200 by each fraction). Next, we will add all the numbers, and we will get 165. Remember, there is still one more season left, so we subtract 165 from 200 to get the remaining amount of people who voted for winter. 35
So we now that there are 200 people.
So we have to do 1/8 of 200 which is 25
We got the answer by doing 200 ÷ 8
That tells us that there are 25 people that selected spring.
So now we have to do 2/5 of 200 which is 80.
We got the answer by doind 200÷5 which was 40. But because the numerator was greater than 1 we had to times the number by 2.
So that tells us that 80 people selected summer.
So now we have to do 3/10 of 200 which is 60.
We did this by 200÷10 which was 20 then as the numerator was greater than 1 we did 20x3 which was 60.So now we have to add them all together
25 + 80 + 60 which is 165
The last step is to do 200-165 which is 35.
So there are 35 people who like winter.
To make this into a fraction u have to do so u know it is out of 200 so 35/200 so u simplify it to 7/40.
