Last year, Kylee moved to a new town, got hooked on heroin, and had some medical scares that made her realize she wants to quit her substance abuse for good. Her parents have offered to help financially, but they're upset with things that she's done and said they don't want to see her again until she's been clean for at least one year. What is the best treatment option for Kylee?
A. A residential program that removes her from her current living situation, followed up with support groups to offer accountability
B. An outpatient program that allows her to continue with her current living and work situation without much disruption
C. A residential program that runs for two full weeks, followed by monthly check-ins after she returns to her current living situation
D. An outpatient program that she can complete while living at her parents' home to receive a balance of medical and family support

Respuesta :

C.is the best answer because if she was at an outpatient program she could slip up. ( that rules out B.) plus at an outpatient program that only offers support groups she could just bail, but if she has to attend monthly check-ins after she returns to her current living situation ( which we don't actually know if it's bad or not) then she's more likely not to start re- using. she can't live with her parents because they said they wouldn't see her till a year after she was clean. ( that eliminates D.)
