Drinking alcoholic beverages is accepted in the society nowadays. Yet its abuse can be costly and dangerous. It can lead to wasted lives, health hazards or even death. Effects of alcohol vary form one person to another but mainly affects mental and social abilities. A large percentage of alcohol is not digested. It is absorbed into the bloodstream and once entered, circulated to the brain. 90% of the alcohol a person drinks is being oxidized by the liver, which takes time. Some are being excreted through urine or perspiration. The remaining will be burned by certain organs of the body.
