When you observe and compare specific physical traits of different birds you will learn that some birds have characteristics that help them live and survive in their own habitat that other birds may not have but make up those birds have characteristics that help them in their own habitat.  

The different physical traits of birds includes:

  1. Feathers.
  2. High metabolism.
  3. A four-chambered heart.
  4. A beak with no teeth.
  5. A lightweight but strong skeleton.
  6. Production of hard-shelled eggs.

So, from these traits one can infer about the birds having different feathers, beaks, about their eggs and more.

  • Feathers are an obvious trait. Feathers are found on every living species of bird.
  • All birds have wings, but not all birds fly. The wings are shaped differently in different species to provide specific advantages.
  • Beaks is the characteristic of birds. These are made from bone and then covered with a very thin layer of keratin.
  • All birds lay eggs.
