Akbar's toleration of other faiths is also notable in his matrimonies to females of several faiths, most prominently Harka Bai, a Brahmin girl belongs to the Amber of Jaipur. Akbar also wedded to a Christian spouse, Maria Zamani Begum, who was permitted to make her church in Akbar’s mansions. Akbar’s respect for Catholicism is also evident in the Buland Darwaza, a which is located in the city of Fatehpur Sikri, on which he had deciphered the Quranic writing: “Isa [Jesus], heir of Mary, declared: This universe is a passage.
