they were the backbone of the Fifth Army. And when Salerno was threatened and everyone else retreated the 36th division (as it was also known) held true and proud. They had a difficult time and gave more than they had to spare. 
At some point they had been captured, however they went down spitting hellfire.

T-Patchers is the 36th united states infantry division also  called Texas Division that gave  federal services to the country during both the World War II.

The distinctive insignia/mark inscribed stands for the 36th Infantry Division of US army called the “T-Patch”,was approved in the year November 12,1918 but not used January 16, 1919. It  was composed mostly of Texas  National Guards hence named as Texas Division.  

The t-patchers which was demobilized after the WWI again entered the federal services way before the united states entered the WWII i.e on November 25,1940 launched its training at new Camp Bowie.      

A unit of division known as lost battalion transferred  to the pacific as pearl harbor and they were captured due to fall of java.  

They also participated in a long fight between  September 9 and 18, 1943 with other units of the US army at vulnerable beachhead at Salerno, Italy.After suffering a lot of casualties it was called of as it reduced its effectiveness.  

Hence it can be said that the contribution the 36th infantry division cannot be forgotten.
