Which theory of the origin of the moon is supported most by the finding that the moon is similar in composition to the outer portions of the Earth?

impact theory
co-formation theory
capture theory
synchronous theory

Respuesta :

I believe that the answer would be the impact theory as it is a theory that states that because the moon is of similar composition to the Earth, that it was created by some sort of impact, hence the name of the theory.

Answer:

The correct answer is co-formation theory.

Explanation:

The theory that is supported majorly by the finding that the moon is identical in composition to the outer parts of the Earth is known as the co-formation theory. According to this theory, the moon was created at the same time as the Earth from the solar nebula.

This theory illustrates the origin of the moon as a body, which was produced from the solar nebula at a similar time and approximately at the same place as the Earth, and also goes on to illustrate the position of the moon.

At the time of the generation of the moon and the Earth from the nascent solar nebula, the nuclei of the moon extracted materials obtained from the cloud of the gas, which was encircling them. The nebular components from which the moon and the Earth were produced are considered to be very identical.
