The Transcontinental railroad was commissioned to be a railroad line that connected the western coast to the eastern coast in the United States. In 1830s cities in the east had railroad lines that connected major cities.
Transcontinental Railroad is a train route across the U.S. which is finished in 1869. It was the major project of two railroad organizations the Union Pacific which built from the east & the Central Pacific which built from the west.
These two lines met in Utah. The Central Pacific laborers were predominantly by Chinese and the Union Pacific laborers predominantly by Irish. Both of the groups often worked under difficult conditions.
