Respuesta :

Membrane lipids are capable of many different types of movement. switching between lipid layersb  does not occur spontaneously in biological membranes.

Lipids operate as fundamental structural components of membranes, as signalling molecules, as chemical identifiers of certain membranes and as energy storage molecules. Since only a few cellular membranes are evenly dispersed for lipid production, most organelles must rely on lipid transport mechanisms to obtain their entire supply of lipids.

Although the mechanisms underlying lipid transport between and within organelles are not fully understood, a growing number of genes that are unmistakably engaged in these activities have been found. There is unmistakable proof that multiple lipids are transported across organelles by non-vesicular mechanisms including zones of apposition between donor and acceptor compartments and macromolecular assemblies made up of several lipids and proteins.
