Respuesta :
Anaphase is the shortest phase of mitosis. In anaphase, the sister chromatids are pulled apart to opposite ends of the cell. In metaphase, chromosomes line up along the metaphase plate.Metaphase takes a short amount of time to complete. Telophase is the next to the shortest phase of mitosis after anaphase.

Cells spend the least of their time in the telophase because they have already undergone the bulk of the division process in previous stages.
MITOSIS:
- Mitosis is the process whereby a single cell produces two daughter cells that are genetically identical to one another.
- Mitosis comprises of four distinct stages namely: prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.
- In the cell cycle, the cell spends majority of time preparing itself for division in the interphase stage. The telophase stage is the last and shortest stage of mitotic division.
- The telophase involves reformation of nuclear membrane and de-condensation of chromosomes in readiness for cytokinesis.
- Therefore, cells spend the least of their time in the telophase because they have already undergone the bulk of the division process in previous stages.
