The nuclear membrane is a characteristic that sets euglena apart from cyanobacteria.
The only photosynthetic prokaryotes with the capacity to produce oxygen are members of the phylum of bacteria known as cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria obtain their energy through the process of photosynthesis. They are prokaryotes that lack the nuclear membrane.
A single-cell flagellate eukaryote is referred to as a euglena. It belongs to the Euglenoidea class. Freshwater and saltwater both include the species of Euglena. They have nuclear membranes since they are eukaryotes.
An organism with only one cell is said to be unicellular. Typically, the cell contains organelles that allow the organism to carry out its duties. Since Euglena is unicellular and photosynthetic, it also has a cell membrane.
Euglena and cyanobacteria can produce their own nourishment since they are photosynthetic. The existence of a nuclear membrane in the euglena, however, makes them distinct from one another.
